September 1, 1973 Colorado/Denver
(Red Rocks Amphitheatre)
This was the concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver that Barry wrote about in
Sweet Life. He was still the musical director for Bette, and played the intermission of her show. Years later, it was interesting to read Barry's memories of that night as sitting in the crowd my memories were very much the same... an overwhelming sense of awe at the beauty surrounding us... completely engrossed in the music. Hearing "Could It Be Magic" that night changed my life forever. Barry, thank you for a lifetime of wonderful music and memories, and for remaining true to yourself. Looking back, It's A Miracle we survived those early years! - Lana Graham (Denver, Colorado) (9/15/2011)

First Show (November 4): This was my very first Barry concert, held in Cincinnati, Ohio! I had gotten "Hooked on Barry" a few months earlier after hearing "Could It Be Magic" on the local radio station. That concert was SO long ago that there was "festival seating" for the performance. Before I know it, I will have been a "Barry fan" for thirty years! - Andrea Marine (Cincinnati, OH) (4/7/2002)

First Show (Philadelphia, Academy of Music) - Denise Coughlin (Bensalem, PA) (8/13/2000)

First Show (November 25, Academy of Music, Philadelphia): I first saw Barry Manilow with Bette Midler. He opened her second act and blew the place away. That is not any easy thing to do. I saw him then every time he came to Philadelphia until the mid-80's. I have his very first album (signed by Barry). There are a lot of good memories. Thanks Barry! - Pattie Kerins (Philadelphia, PA) (1/9/2001)

I first saw Barry as Bette Midler's accompanist at her show at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia, PA. My friends and I were instantly charmed by him and loved his style. - Bernadette Sikorski (Blackwood, NJ) (2/12/2002)

We were at the Academy of Music when Barry performed while Bette Midler took a break. When Bette's piano player played during one break the Academy went wild! - Teri (of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) (9/1/2011)
